Project description:

[Sept. 2022] Project was cancelled as MS-Windows 10/11 and MS-Office is mandatory and Labdoo cannot fulfill this criteria.

Through the ‘’Computers for schools project’’ Liberty College of Management & Journalism is aiming at equipping the students with adequate computer skills necessary for accessing and sharing information and innovations on Internet. This will enable the students and teachers in the rural parts of Uganda to link up with other innovative students anywhere in the world.
The project specifically aims to equip the computer room at Liberty College of Management & Journalism situated in Kasese district which is one of the rural districts of Uganda with inadequate access to computer services. Currently, the college has only 5 old computers being shared by 356 students at the ratio of 71 students per computer. The computer room has no internet access which makes access to up to date information impossible. And yet there are several innovations available on the internet that would enhance the knowledge of these students.
To address this challenge, 50 Laptops need to be procured and connected to the internet to enhance the learning of students and sharing of innovations. The students will then be equipped with the requisite computer applications and maintenance skills. The project also intends to design a website to showcase products and innovations and act as a link to the outside world. Your support of any kind will be highly appreciated.
