We are starting a new project in Vilafranca to help provide laptops for people that have some disability. This is the project:

Some of you have been working to enable special education software for people that have some disability (i believe Wendy and Ralf have worked in such projects before, and maybe others too). Could you please share with us:
1. Any learning lessons?
2. Where can we download the (latest versions of the) special education software from?

solutions may depend on the kind of disability (blind, visually or hearing impaired, unable to move etc.). There is a script adding suggested tools to a Labdoo laptop. These tools were removed from the images for cloning, as not often requested.

There were problemes reported with ORCA with LXDE desktop. Maybe you have to switch to another desktop like Unity or Gnome?
Another approach could be to use a Linux distribution specialized on solutions for handicapped users, adding further educational software and content by script or manually?

Gracias por contar con nosotros para este proyecto, actualmente nuestra asociciacion mayoritariamente trabaja con personas con discapacidad física, especialmente motorica o con movilidad reducida, aunque estamos abriendo nuestro proyecto a otras poblaciones y con otras discapacidades como pueden ser auditivas o visuales, por eso en este momento no necesitamos herramientas especificas para estas personas pero si nos interesa tener la información necesaria para en caso de necesidad saber de ellas y aplicarlas donde se necesite.
Gracias por la colaboración y estamos a vuestra disposición para cualquier duda o sugerencia.
